How to sample for genetic testing ？

Genetic testing is the ability to test DNA through blood, other fluids or cells. It can be used to determine the individuality, or to determine the group (ancestral) characteristics through group comparison. It is difficult to narrow the area first and detect the individuality.

There are many kinds of gene detection, including saliva collection, oral swab, DNA blood collection, DNA blood sample collection card (fingertip blood and heel blood) and EDTA anticoagulation (venous blood), etc., but saliva collection and oral swab are still recommended. Because these two collection methods are suitable for everyone, they are simple, noninvasive and fast.
Collection method
For example:
The oral swab is composed of a sampling swab head, a sleeve rod and a push rod. Its purpose is to collect and preserve oral mucosal epithelial cells.
1. First, rinse your mouth with water 2-3 times to make sure your mouth is clean. Then take out the oral swab, and gently press the swab head on the inner wall of the mouth to make the cheek slightly convex, once up and down, and scrape 20 times.
2. After scraping, insert the swab head into the sample collection tube, push the back rod of the swab with fingers, drive the swab head into the tube, tighten the tube cover, and shake it evenly.

3. Next, take another oral swab and repeat the action on the other side of the mouth. The collected sample DNA can be stored at room temperature.

matters needing attention
1. Do not eat, smoke or drink 30 minutes before sampling.
2. Do not touch the swab head with cheek, fingers, teeth and other objects. If the swab head is accidentally touched or dropped during sampling, please replace it with a new swab for resampling.
3. Do not use if the package is open or damaged.
